“The Joy of Being a Deliberate Cultivator of Peace and Harmony”

***Christmas Potluck***

Unity of Calgary will provide the Turkey so bring your favourite side dish to share as we enjoy this traditional Christmas meal together.

The Unity theme for the second week of advent is Peace. We light the advent wreath candle representing Peace. We read about Peace. We sing about Peace. And, frankly, many have asked, “How do I create an atmosphere of peace in me with so much going on in my life, in my family, in my community and around the world, that is not peaceful? Let’s explore the ways we can, as individual expressions of the Divine, actively, consciously, purposefully, and deliberately cultivate the essence and manifestation of peace and harmony this Christmas season, and indeed, all through the year.

Alara Payten is a long-time member of our Unity of Calgary Spiritual Community. She currently serves on the Spiritual Leadership Team, the Unity Band, and as the Prayer Chaplain Trainer/Program Coordinator.

Alara’s quest for exploring the sacred was borne of a deep yearning for freedom from the bondage of struggle and suffering. Her life-path as a mystic has led her to actively pursue and allow an ever-deepening relationship with Spirit.

After a 24-year career as a Physical Therapist, it is now Alara’s delight to follow her calling as an Evolutionary Medicine Woman. Her passion is creating sacred space for compassionate transformation and awakening for spiritually evolving women and men.
